Not just birdwatching but bird catching too! Catching birds is a well known and favourite pastime amongst cats, especially the outdoor variety. Anyway, Dobson hung about scouting for awhile before finally getting his prize: his first ever sparrow. And yes, he brought his present/trophy inside and dropped her at my feet.

And she was still alive!

So I did the right thing: I saved her before she could be mortally wounded and placed her carefully on a tree stump. When she got her courage back, she flew away, never to be seen again.

  3. I know Dobson was disappointed, but you did the right thing. Many years ago, one of our cats brought me a baby bunny. He, too, survived the experience.
